Community guidelines

A simple agreement for a welcoming reading community.

Share with respect

• Use a name that other community members can recognise, without sharing unnecessary personal details.
• Discuss books and ideas with kindness, including when opinions differ.
• Keep recommendations, reviews, comments and projects relevant to reading and learning.
• Mark spoilers and keep book quotations short. Credit the book and page when possible.

What is not allowed

• Harassment, threats, hate speech or attacks on a person or faith.
• Sexually explicit, violent or otherwise unsafe material.
• Spam, scams, misleading promotions or repeated unrelated posts.
• Sharing another person’s private information without permission.
• Long copyrighted passages, full chapters or unauthorised copies of books.

Reports and moderation

Use the Report option beside a contribution or project when something may break these guidelines. You can also hide a reader’s contributions on your own device. Reports are reviewed privately. Content may be removed and access may be limited when needed to protect the community.
